JAZZ HIGH
High Jazz is produced entirely by Madlib, an album of jazz tracks created with Madlib's group of musicians and collaborators collectively known as Yesterdays Universe. Below are some photos taken at the Hit+Run studio where the 3/LP covers were created.These 3/LP sets are limited to 1400 copies - now sold out from Stones Throw's store, but available while they last at Fat Beats and all other usual spots.

KUTMAH
By now many of you know the story of our good friend KUTMAH, here's a quick recap... Justin "KUTMAH" McNulty was born in Brighton, England and came to the United States with his mother at age 12. He made a name for himself as a talented visual artist and dj/beat-maker, starting the seminal LA club SKETCHBOOK. On May 5th, 2010 armed federal agents entered his home and took him to a downtown LA facility where he was interrogated over his immigration status. Kutmah was then sent to a detention center in New Mexico where he was locked away for almost two months. After his release, Kutmah was immediately deported to London, England. Legally, he is not allowed to re-enter the United States and is beginning his life over in the UK.
Over the last two months, to help raise awareness and funds, we held amazing benefits at the Verdugo Bar in Glassel Park, The Crosby in Santa Ana, Echoplex in Echo Park, and LA represented to the fullest! While still locked down in June, we planned another FREE KUTMAH event for early July at the Dakota Lounge in Santa Monica. Since he was released on June 30th, we turned the event into a KUTMAH'S FREE! party. Two days before our event the Dakota Lounge burned to the ground, forcing us to postpone the party until now....

Please join us tonight, Friday July 23rd at EL CID in Silverlake for the final send-off and celebration that "KUTMAH'S FREE!" DJ's RHETTMATIC (Beat Junkies), J-LOGIC (Soundlessons), TOKS (H+R) and SPECIAL GUESTS will be rocking the decks, with HIT+RUN on the patio knocking out special screenprints on paper. Choose your own combination of exclusive art by KUTMAH (all drawn in while in prison), limited to an edition of #100. Come out to support and show Kutmah how much Los Angeles fam will miss him!

On Saturday, July 24th we print live on little kids clothes from 2-4pm at GAP's "1969" pop-up shop in Beverly Hills, and then again Saturday night for the SKIRTS+SKINS soiree at Mountain Bar in Chinatown. You can't miss us on the DEW TOUR in Chicago all this weekend printing custom cd sleeves, and even Crew over in the UK screenprinting live at THE SECRET GARDEN PARTY 2010 in the countryside 70 miles outside of London! After this weekend, HIT+RUN will have screenprinted live at fifteen events in the last eleven days... that also includes last week's private party with 98.7FM, an Abelton Workshop at the Downtown Independent, The Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, Sticky Rick's "PEEL HERE" stickerfest, The California Gift Show at the LA Convention Center, and two days with got Milk? at Hermosa Beach (where Crew was printing on the sand with their shoes off, don't hate!)
