We also are proud to announce our first HIT+RUN live event for 2009...here we go! The Union of Medical Marijuana Patients (UMMP) is a civil rights organization based in Los Angeles, California. The Union's membership is comprised of medical marijuana patients and their legally compliant organizations throughout the State of California. The UMMP was founded in 2007 to address the shared concerns of patients and their organizations. The Union commemorates the inaugural celebration of President Elect Barack Obama on Tuesday January 20th, 2009 with a special press conference and fundraising event to promote politicians supporting medical marijuana patients. Come out and learn what’s happening in the medical marijuana community and watch politicians and journalists speak out on behalf of patients.
The celebration will begin with a live viewing of Obama's inaugural ceremony broadcasted from Washington D.C. There will be a press conference, special guests speakers Dennis Peron (author of CA Proposition 215) and Paul Koretz (co-author of SB 420), food, bands, djs, drinks and live screenprinting by HIT+RUN. Organic shirts will be for sale for $10 donation or bring your own shirt to have printed, with all donated funds going to UMMP.
