In 2005, dublab began filming four Los Angeles djs and their adventures in making music. The labrats sent RAS-G, NOBODY, DADELUS and J.ROCC into local thrift stores, armed with only $5 to buy five used $1 records. The 25-minute movie traces their journey from finding the obscure vinyl gems, to the creation of songs based on samples from each of those records. Dublab premieres "SECONDHAND SURESHOTS" at the Silent Movie Theater on Sunday, December 7th with a special night of beat-making, djs, videos and live silkscreening by HIT+RUN. People are encouraged to bring "second hand" clothes to have printed for FREE. A virtual who's who of Los Angeles poster artists will be representing their crews all night, check out work by 2CENTS, 20MG, AKO, CAT CULT, ENIK, EUTHANASIA, FAVIANNA RODRIGUEZ, GUSTAVO ALBERTO GACIA VACA, JOHN CARR, KAREN FIORITO, MEAR, MADONE, SPKRFKR, PROJECT RABBIT, RA, RESTITUTION PRESS, SHARK TOOF, SLICK, SMEAR, HIT+RUN CREW and many many more.
